Emre Can’s decision on future on hold

Midfielder Emre Can has revealed that his agent has put his decision on his future on hold, according to The Daily Mail.

The German international’s current contract runs out at the end of this current season, and so when the January transfer window opened, he was able to talk to foreign clubs about the possibility of a free transfer in the summer on a pre-contract agreement.

Juventus have been heavily linked with him, but Can has said that he could sign for any club, including Liverpool, who remain his priority.

Can has been excellent while the transfer speculation has been going on, helping Liverpool fight for second place while also helping the Reds to the quarter finals of the Champions League.

In a recent interview, Can said (via The Daily Mail):

Of course I have to think about my footballing future.

I haven’t signed for any other club, I’m just focused on this season. We want to finish in second place in the Premier League, we’re in the Champions League quarter-finals and we want to progress. That’s all I’m focused on now.

My agent has blocked all negotiations, I’m thinking only of football.

Liverpool now prepare for the biggest game of the season, facing fiercest rivals Manchester United away, especially with the fact that whoever wins goes to second place.

That is what Can will be focusing on, and soon, when it comes to deciding his future, he may be playing many more times for the Reds in the future.
