Firmino sees similarities between Liverpool and Brazil

As Roberto Firmino prepares to line-up against England for Brazil at Wembley on Tuesday, the Brazilian midfielder-come-striker has drawn comparisons between his national side and The Reds, according to The Mirror.

Liverpool fans will be undoubtedly delighted with the comparison, with the Brazil squad containing the likes of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Marcelo, Dani Alves and much more talent.

Going into this international break, Liverpool were in fine form, coming off the back of a 4-1 smashing of West Ham, so the fans will hope their Brazilian stars in Firmino and Philippe Coutinho will not suffer any injuries when playing England this Tuesday, so they can carry on their form.

Liverpool currently sit 5th in the Premier League table, with 19 points after 11 games and will face Southampton at Anfield for their first game under the international break.

When comparing Liverpool and Brazil, Firmino said

I think the Brazil system is similar to the one we use at Liverpool, with lots of movement, players open out wide and quality midfielders who join the attack and score goals, it helps having Coutinho with me. He’s a ‘differential’ who helps swing games, the fact we’re together day to day at Liverpool means we have a good understanding, so we can use that in Brazil games.
