Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are amongst the top 100 valuable players on the planet, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Emre Can and Jordan Ibe also make the list, compiled by Swiss-based research body CIES Football Observatory.
The report details the transfer values of players in Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues by using a statistical model which takes into account transfer deals over the past six years, and key indicators such as a player’s age, position, contract, international status and performance.
And according to their calculations, Coutinho is Liverpool’s most valuable player with a worth of £41M – the 27th best on the list.
He’s followed in 53rd place by Emre Can, who is supposedly worth £31M, whilst Roberto Firmino sits in 65th with a projected price tag of £30M.
But perhaps the most surprising inclusion on the list is Jordan Ibe, who according to figures is the 95th most valuable football on the planet with a worth of £23M.
The figures certainly make for an interesting read, even more so for the fact that Coutinho has been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent days, in a deal close to the value of what has been projected here.
Likewise, it would be difficult to argue against the fact that Firmino, who has had a decent season for the Reds, has been worth the £29m that Liverpool paid for him last summer.
But some projections do seem slightly wide of the mark; not least that of youngster Ibe, who somehow makes the list – in front of Marco Reus and Joe Hart – despite struggling to make Liverpool’s bench at times this season.
Unsurpsingly, Lionel Messi tops the list with a whooping value of £165M, closely followed by Barcelona team mate Neymar (£157M), and Cristiano Ronaldo (£137M).
Harry Kane is the highest-valued Premier League player on the list with a – perhaps, slightly ambitious – price-tag of £87M, whilst former Red Raheem Sterling is supposedly now worth £10M more than the £45M Manchester City paid for him.
I’d cash in whilst you can, Pep..
