How have those who left Liverpool in the summer got on this season?

Liverpool were fairly busy in the last transfer window with the Reds signing Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Alisson.

But there were also many outs with five players being moved on from Merseyside permanently by Jurgen Klopp – here is how they have got on so far in the season:

Jordan Williams

Williams moved to Rochdale in the summer after a loan spell last season, signing on a free after his contract with Liverpool had expired.

The defensive midfielder has made 11 appearances in all competitions so far for the Dale starting in most of the games in League 1.

The Wales youth international never made a Premier League appearance for the Reds, only playing in cup games and for the Under 23s.

Rochdale are currently 17th in League 1, sitting on 16 points from 15 games, winning four of those games.

Danny Ward

Ward was sold to Leicester City for £12.5million but has only played twice in the Carabao Cup this season, keeping two clean sheets in the process.

The Welshman saved three out of four penalties in the shootout against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Third Round.

However, it still wasn’t enough to take the number one spot from Kasper Schmeichel and has had a place on the bench as the number two throughout the season.

Leicester are currently 11th in the Premier League winning four and losing five so far and are sat on 12 points – 2 points behind Manchester United.

Ragnar Klavan

Klavan came to Liverpool in 2016 as a back up to the defence and played 39 games in the Premier League scoring one goal.

He signed for Cagliari in the summer for a fee of £2million and has made six appearances in the Serie A.

Starting regularly for his side before picking up an injury on the October 1st keeping him out for the last two games.

Cagliari are currently in 14th place in the Serie A winning two, drawing four and losing three in the 9 games they have played so far.

Jon Flanagan

Flanagan made his mark in the 2013/14 campaign starting at left back and putting in consistent performances – earning him an England call-up.

After a serious of injuries, the Scouser couldn’t get back into first team and after a couple of loan spells signed for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers upon release of his contract.

Flanagan has been used mainly at left back for Rangers, playing 15 games in all competitions – finally getting some serious minutes on the pitch.

Rangers are currently fifth in the SPL, winning five games out of nine and are currently top of Group G in the Europa League ahead of Villareal, Rapid Wien and Spartak Moscow.

Emre Can

Can left Liverpool for Juventus in the summer, signing for free as he let his contract run out after four years in Merseyside.

The German international has made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady getting one assist in the Serie A.

The central midfielder is currently ill for the Italian giants, missing the last game against Manchester United in the Champions League.

Juventus are top of the Serie A, undefeated in nine games with only one of them being a draw, they lead the number of goals for with 19.
