Liverpool consider Thomas Lemar as Coutinho replacement

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are strongly holding an interest in Arsenal’s long-term target Thomas Lemar, if star man Philippe Coutinho leaves this summer.

The Monaco midfielder burst onto the scene last season, helping his side to become French champions, with 14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions, warranting a lot of interest in the 21-year-old.

Premier League rivals Arsenal have had a series of rejected bids for Lemar but it’s reported that the midfielder wants the move to the Emirates over any other side.

Monaco have already lost two key midfielders, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva to Chelsea and Man City respectively and they will be determined to keep hold of young star Thomas Lemar.

However, this transfer will rely on a domino effect. If Neymar was to leave Barcelona for PSG this summer, it’s believed the Spanish giants will target Philippe Coutinho as his replacement, who has been tipped to be wanting the move.

A summer target all window for Arsenal will not see them give up easily on Lemar’s signature so Jurgen Klopp may have a lot of persuading to do.

The French starlet seems set for a move this summer however the club are yet to speak to Monaco about the possibility of this transfer.
