Liverpool are still looking to add quality in the final third ahead of the start of the new season and have reportedly been looking at Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks at San Lorenzo in Argentina before completing a £6.4m move to Atletico Madrid in December 2014 where he has developed into a first-team regular.
After netting eight goals and providing 11 assists last season, Correa has been linked with a move away from Atletico with Liverpool headlining the list of suitors.
Spanish source AS report that the Reds have made a £25m bid for the attacker this summer and have put forward a five-year contract worth £46,000-a-week to the player.
Only contracted for two more seasons, Atletico need to make a decision on Correa’s future, whether to give him an extension to his contract or cash-in on him now.
Due to their transfer ban, Atletico can’t replace Correa if he’s sold this summer, but the report states that they could be tempted into a sale during the January transfer window when the ban is lifted.
