Liverpool have third Keita bid refused

RB Leipzig have rejected a third bid from Liverpool, as they toughen up their stances on the midfielder, reiterating he will not be sold during this window.

Sky Sports have reported that senior officials from the German side have informed them that they will resist all offers for Keita, among heavy interest from Liverpool.

The Reds have made previous bids of around £67 million, which the Bundesliga runners-up swiftly rejected.

The Guinea international does, however, have a £48 million release clause in his contract, but the clause does not become active until next summer.

The Anfield club are vying to make Keita their fourth summer signing, after the arrivals of Dominic Solanke, Mohammed Salah and Andrew Robertson.

Klopp sees Keita as a major signing, as he also holds a strong interest in Southampton captain Virgil Van Dijk. The German is refusing to give up on these two players, as the new season draws ever closer.

Keita, 22, made 32 appearances for RB Leipzig last season, as he helped them to qualify for the Champions League for the very first time.

The German club are attempting to lure Keita into signing a new deal, but Liverpool will remain persistent in signing the midfielder.
