Loan Watch: How did Liverpool’s loan players fare at the weekend?

Liverpool have a number of players currently out on loan across the world, so let’s see how they performed at the weekend.

Danny Ings – Southampton

Ings was on the scoresheet once again for the Saints, scoring in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. The forward played 78 minutes before being replaced.

The 26-year-old also won man-of-the-match in the game, Southampton currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League.

Harry Wilson – Derby County

Wilson did not feature in Derby’s 2-1 triumph over his former club Hull City in the Championship, due to the injury he picked up a few weeks ago.

The Rams currently sit in 4th place looking to finally return to the Premier League next season.

Ben Woodburn – Sheffield United

Woodburn was an unused substitute in the Blades 4-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Championship.

United sit at 3rd in the Championship, kicking off their season in great fashion. Woodburn will now link up with the Wales squad.

Ryan Kent & Ovie Ejaria – Rangers

Rangers were beaten 1-0 in the Old Firm against Celtic, Olivier Ntcham with the goal for the Hoops.

Kent played 87 minutes before being substituted, and Ejaria played the full game. They both played as the wide midfielders in a diamond formation.

Steven Gerrard’s men moved down to seventh after that defeat, but still have a lot to play for.

Adam Bogdan – Hibernian

Bogdan returned to the starting eleven for Hibernian, after a few games out with injury.

Hibs were defeated 2-1 by Livingston, Shaun Byrne and Scott Pittman getting the goals for Livingston whilst Daryl Horgan was on target for the Edinburgh outfit.

Hibernian sit on 6th place in the SPL, one ahead of Rangers.

Loris Karius – Besiktas

Karius made his debut for Besiktas at the weekend and was their star performer in a 1-1 draw with Bursaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The German shot stopper also picked up a yellow card in the 80th minute, former Red Ryan Babel scored for Besiktas and Diafra Sakho scored for Bursaspor.

Besiktas sit in 7th place, just short of the European qualifying places.

Sheyi Ojo – Stade Reims

Ojo made his debut in Ligue 1 at the weekend, replacing Mathieu Cafaro in the 78th minute.

Stade Reims were defeated 1-0 by Montpellier with Ambroise Oyongo getting the only goal of the game.

They are currently 11th in Ligue 1.

Marco Grujic – Hertha Berlin

Grujic played as part of the front three in 3-4-3 formation, playing just off striker Vedad Ibisevic as an inside forward. Hertha impressively beat Schalke 2-0 away from home, with Ondrej Duda grabbing both goals.

Hertha are sitting third in the Bundesliga after two games, with a pair of wins to their name.
