Liverpool midfielder James Milner is the fifth best player amongst Euro 2016 teams, says a UEFA Ranking tool.
Real Madrid and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo is Europe’s best according to UEFA’s ‘barometer’, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in second.
The list is based on form for club and country throughout the last six months, during which Milner has scored 4 goals and made 11 assists.
“The barometer runs official player statistics through a specially designed algorithm to create rankings based on player performances,” said UEFA.
“The data considered for each position is specific to the position type.
“For example, tackles and interceptions are considered to be key statistics for defensive midfielders, while successful dribbles and crosses are core stats for wingers.”
Milner is the second best Premier League on the list, with West Ham’s Dimitri Payer sitting one position above the 30-year-old.
Dele Alli is England’s next ranked player in 15th, behind Harry Kane (23rd), Jamie Vardy (28th) and Eric Dier (34th).
