Going through twitter in recent weeks makes for some grim reading. After some bad results, the normal fan meltdowns are in full swing. Most of which are definitely overreactions. At first glance you would think Liverpool are about to get relegated with the way some fans are reacting. Calling for FSG’s heads, Jürgen Klopp’s head and for the entire squad to be sold, fans need to put things into perspective and look at the bigger picture.
Although results this past month have been poor, it’s not like the Reds have been playing poorly. Chances are being created, football is being played the way Klopp wants it, but the problem is finishing those chances. 20 plus shots in most of these games should definitely result in wins, but as soon as the players click again goals will be flying in like the they were in the beginning of the season. Nice games into the season everyone was so confident and excited. Now six games later and it’s the end of the world.
Of course, Liverpool have problems that need to be addressed. No top team has a defence like Liverpool. In the last five games, Liverpool have outshot their opponents 119-36, but have been outscored 9-6. Teams should not be scoring with all their shots on target. All an opponent needs to do is at least create a chance and it will most likely end up in the back of the net. So obviously Liverpool’s issues are clear to see and although many fans think these problems will never get solved I’m sure Klopp and his staff are work tirelessly to try and stop the leaks at the back.
But Liverpool are also surprisingly having problems offensively too. The team hasn’t been clinical enough recently. The chances are being created, which is good but until Liverpool’s attack starts to click again you should expect more close, nerve wracking games. But it should be just a matter of time with the talent Liverpool have before they start battering teams once again.
A few wins in a row and everything will look great again. Everyone dips out of form and Liverpool’s has come early on. To put it in perspective, Real Madrid have won three games, drawn two and lost one, the exact same record as Liverpool, while scoring one less goal.
Liverpool have improved so much under Klopp it’s unreal. Since he arrived at Anfield he took over Brendan Rodger’s miss and reached two finals and got top four all while we’ve played some fantastic football. Liverpool is a long term project and so far we are way ahead of schedule. Liverpool play great football, under a great manager, with some great players. Things are definitely on the up at Anfield.
Also just to quickly mention, Klopp out doesn’t exist. There is no sane Liverpool fan who wants Klopp to leave. He is perfect for Liverpool and will 100% lead the Reds to where we all want them to be. Klopp out is just being blown out of proportion by the media to create stories.
