Sunderland join Villa and Leeds in race to sign Ryan Kent

According to the Express, recently relegated Sunderland have joined the battle between Leeds and Aston Villa for Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent.

Kent joined Liverpool at the age of seven and has been progressing through the ranks with Liverpool for years now and he is very highly rated at Anfield.

The 20-year-old winger has had loan spells with Coventry City and most recently with Barnsley, who he made 44 appearances for in the Championship last season, scoring three times and assisting three times.

With his recent experience in the Championship, many Championship clubs are interested in his services on loan for the season such as Leeds United, Aston Villa and most recently Sunderland, who look to strengthen their squad as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Kent has impressed the most for Liverpool’s Under 23 side, scoring 15 and assisting nine times in 40 games. He has also earned call ups for England’s Under 18 and Under 20 sides.

He has a lot of choice as to what club he wants to go out on loan to, with Bristol City, Derby, Hull and Middlesbrough also interested in rivalling Leeds, Aston Villa and Sunderland for Kent, who has featured for Liverpool in their 2017/18 preseason games. Jurgen Klopp is prepared to allow Kent to leave the club this summer and he’s no short of suitors.
