A vastly-improved second half performance saw Liverpool beat Huddersfield 3-0 and pick up a crucial three points at Anfield.
The Reds looked bereft of energy and ideas in the first half, unable to break down the visitors’ organised defence.
They were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead when Tommy Smith pulled back Roberto Firmino in the area, but Jonas Lossl denied Mohamed Salah from the spot.
However, it took the Reds just five second-half minutes to open the scoring, with Daniel Sturridge calmly lofting the ball over the Huddersfield ‘keeper.
Firmino then doubled the home side’s lead with a header from James Milner’s corner.
And Georginio Wijnaldum put the icing on the cake 15 minutes from time, emphatically firing into the roof of the net.
