Arsenal v Liverpool – The Kop HQ’s match preview

A huge game is in store on Friday evening as two top four contenders, Arsenal and Liverpool, meet at the Emirates.

Games between these two sides are usually are full of incidents and are often very entertaining and I expect this game to be similar.

Liverpool sit just one place and one point ahead of the Gunners in the Premier League table, so this is a massive six pointer.

Arsenal are the type of team that likes to play football and they  have many attacking threats with Alexis Sanchez, Alexander Lacazette and Mesut Ozil the main trio. They aren’t great in midfield or defensively though and can certainly be got at, as we proved back in August when we trounced them 4-0 at Anfield.

Liverpool were scintillating that day and a repeat of that performance should see us win again on Friday, regardless of how well Arsenal perform.

Jurgen Klopp’s team selection will be interesting, as ever, due to rotation. The biggest dilemma will likely be whether Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starts the game against his former employers, after a great performance at Bournemouth or if Sadio Mane starts after he was left on the bench for that game.

rsenal are a side that Mane tends to play well against, so it’s a tough call. The rest of the side will probably remain unaltered, which may come as a surprise due to the amount of recent changes that Klopp has made.

This is a game I’m looking forward to as it is finely balanced, it could go either way and goals are anticipated. Without being boring and sitting on the fence, I feel it will be a score draw with the game itself being far from boring and a highly entertaining start to the festive period.

Prediction:

Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool

(Lacazette, Sanchez / Salah, Mane)
