Liverpool host Stoke City tonight in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final tie.
The Reds were victorious back in August when the two sides met on the opening day of the season, which helped erase memories of a 6-1 drubbing by the Potters on the final fixture of the previous term, and repeated their 1-0 feat through Jordon Ibe three weeks ago.
A lot has changed since Philippe Coutinho’s late strike separated the two sides five months back; Liverpool have a new manager and a new set of problems, while Stoke have become one of the league’s most exciting outfits with their unfamiliar, attractive, style of football under Mark Hughes.
In years gone by, this combined XI may have been entirely comprised of Liverpool players, but that is no longer the case.
