After the torture of the international break, Liverpool return to action with the biggest fixture in English football; a game with arch-rivals Manchester United.
The break was not kind to Liverpool with star man Sadio Mane injuring his hamstring whilst playing for Senegal, which means the Reds will be without their best player for a long time.
United have injury concerns of their own though and once the whistle blows at 12:30 on Saturday, the only men that matter are the ones on the field, not those in the stands.
So, who will Jurgen Klopp select to start this huge game? Here’s the XI I think he’ll pick:
Simon Mignolet
I still don’t agree with the constant swapping of goalkeepers. Mignolet should, for the time being at least, start every game.
Joe Gomez
The choice between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Gomez is a toss-up but I think the manager will go with Gomez as he’s a bit better defensively and should also help Liverpool at set-pieces against a tall United side.
Joel Matip
Matip has had a much-needed break after being a regular starter this year. Hopefully he’s feeling refreshed as he’ll have his hands full against a potent Man United attack.

Dejan Lovren
We all know Lovren’s level but as it stands, he’s the best option Liverpool have so he gets the nod.
Alberto Moreno
Moreno looks to have established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back once again. His pace could be a useful weapon in attack and also help Liverpool defend United’s speedy wide players.
Jordan Henderson
Henderson’s form began to improve before the break. Let’s hope his time with England hasn’t put a halt to that.

Emre Can
Can has been very good for Liverpool in big games in the recent past and his physicality will be much-needed.
Gini Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum has come in for some criticism recently and had Liverpool been fully fit, he probably would have missed out. As it is, he’ll get the start on Saturday.
Mohamed Salah
Sarah should be feeling like a million dollars after guiding Egypt to the World Cup. Let’s hope he takes that confidence into this game.

Philippe Coutinho
Despite playing almost a full game for Brazil, Coutinho is needed so won’t get a rest. He’ll start from the left.
Roberto Firmino
Firmino also featured for Brazil against Chile but it was only for a few minutes so he’ll get the nod in this game.
