After the disappointment of Wednesday night, which I won’t venture into now, Jurgen Klopp has a home tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers to negotiate to keep his side in the FA Cup.
A potential banana skin anyway, without taking into account the Reds’ dismal form, this game poses a conundrum for Klopp. Does he play a very strong side to try and build some momentum ahead of Chelsea on Tuesday or should he stick with the youngsters and rest the ‘first team’?
In my opinion, he’ll do a bit of both. I can see him resting a couple of players but making sure he has a strong senior element to the side.
It’s a cup tie, so anything’s possible, but with the start to 2017 that we’re currently enduring, a win – and a good one at that – would be welcome now more than ever.
This is my predicted starting eleven for Saturday’s early kick-off at Anfield.
