Liverpool v Leicester – The Kop HQ’s match preview

We welcome Leicester City to Anfield on Saturday, for what is likely to be an entertaining game between two sides that have quick, attacking styles.

The Foxes have Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray, all of whom are capable of causing problems to any side and we will have to be on our guard defensively.

I imagine Jurgen Klopp will make a few changes for the game with only having a two day gap between this fixture and the trip to Burnley on New Year’s Day, so I think maybe Loris Karius might get the nod in goal and we might also see the return of Dejan Lovren in defence. In the forward areas, Sadio Mane should also return after sitting out the game on Boxing Day.

I’m expecting goals in this one. We have a potent counter attack but in this game, we will have a lot of the ball, so Leicester will aim to counter us with the weapons they have at their disposal, so with that in mind, I’m going for a replica score line from when we played at the King Power Stadium in September, 3-2 to the Reds.

Prediction:

Liverpool 3-2 Leicester (Mane x 2, Salah / Vardy, Gray)
