Liverpool will look to recover from last weekend’s frustrating goalless draw against Southampton when they face a resurgent Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea were able to snatch top spot after the Reds squandered a host of chances at St Mary’s, and Jurgen Klopp’s men will look to return to winning ways against a Sunderland side who have won their last two games and ended a lengthy spell at the foot of the table.
The teams played out a 2-2 draw in their last meeting in February as Sunderland rallied in the final ten minutes, but the Reds have been in fine form on home soil this term, putting six past Watford last time out, and will enter Saturday’s clash as the hot favourites.
Adam Lallana is set to miss out for the second consecutive game, but there are no other injury concerns for the Reds, aside from the long-term absence of Danny Ings.
