Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk expected to be fit for Huddersfield clash

Liverpool have been handed a major boost ahead of their trip to face Huddersfield Town on Saturday evening as both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are expected to play in the game.

Salah returned from international duty early after picking up a groin injury whilst representing Egypt in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, whilst Van Dijk played just one of the Netherlands’ two games as he is still managing a long-standing rib injury.

However, as per a report from Paul Joyce of The Times, the pair both returned to full training at Melwood and barring any late setbacks, they’ll be fine to face the Terriers on Saturday evening.

However, questions still remain over the availability of James Milner, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.

Milner was taken off with a hamstring injury during Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City and whilst his recovery has gone better than planned, Saturday’s game might come a bit too early for him,

Keita injured his hamstring whilst playing for Guinea on Tuesday and is a major doubt for Liverpool’s next two games.

Mane broke his thumb whilst playing for Senegal and has had a small procedure to rectify the issue. He could still play in a cast, but as of yet, no decision has been made about his potential availability.
