It feels good doesn’t it.

Liverpool have gone to Stamford Bridge and played the champions of England off the park.

Granted, the Reds aren’t the first team to do that this season and probably won’t be the last, but it’s a nice change from going into these games and coming out underwhelmed – which was often the case under Brendan Rodgers.

Jurgen Klopp’s men started slowly, and went behind within minutes, but from then on, Liverpool were the better side and in the end were undoubted deserved winners.

It has taken the German a few games to impose his style, but this performance must be the blueprint for future visits to difficult grounds.

The Reds were fortunate to be afforded a little extra stoppage time for Philippe Coutinho to beautifully draw them level just before the break, and even luckier to finish with 11 men as Lucas Leiva could – and probably should – have walked, but Klopp will not care one bit.

There was almost an air of inevitability that Liverpool would win the game as soon as Christian Benteke came on. His impact was almost instant as he won the header which led to Coutinho’s second, and then the Belgian put the result beyond doubt with a composed finish late on. What a player this man could be for the Reds.

Anyway. Player ratings. Here goes.
