Liverpool host Southampton on Sunday afternoon, looking to notch their first win in the Jurgen Klopp era.
Thursday’s draw marked the first Klopp goal celebration, but also further exemplified why fans must be patient, as the man is not a miracle worker.
Whilst there hasn’t been a win in either of his initial two games, there has been a change of style and tempo. Liverpool have pressed full throttle at times and it’s been beautiful. You know, in the football nerd type of way.
Daniel Sturridge needs scans on his “non-serious” knee injury. That’s disappointing. So he’s unlikely to play.
Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino each got minutes off the bench on Thursday so there’s hope the duo will be able to start.
James Milner has been in a terrible rut, so he could use a day out of the starting XI, though if Firmino can’t go he’ll have to stay in.
Here’s the team I’d assemble for Liverpool-Southampton.
