It’s officially 2017, and what better way to start off the year than with some Premier League football?
Liverpool travel up North, just 40 odd hours after their clash against Manchester City, to take on Sunderland away at the Stadium of Light. A 3pm kick off so soon after the last game isn’t the most ideal situation for both managers, but it’s the Christmas period so it’s just a case of getting on with it.
Jürgen Klopp’s men will be going into this match buzzing off the back of four consecutive league wins and an important 1-0 victory against their title rivals.
In contrast, David Moyes’s team will be licking their wounds after a humbling 4-1 away defeat to Burnley, a match after which he told Sky Sports his team were “defensively useless”.
Will both managers rotate their squad to keep players fresh? Or will they push their preferred starting 11 to the limits?
