After a much-needed win against Leicester on Saturday evening, Liverpool now switch their attention to the Champions League as they face the long trek to Russia to play Spartak Moscow.
Early suggestions are that the Russians will be without a few key players for the game as both Denis Glushakov and Quincy Promes are doubtful to play.
Spartak have had a poor start to the new campaign after winning the league last season. They are seventh in the Russian top flight and they have been shipping a few goals. They conceded five to Zenit St Petersburg, four to Lokomotiv Moscow and they’ve also lost to CSKA Moscow this season too.
Even though it’s a tough place to go, Liverpool will be confident of getting a result over in Russia and after drawing our first game at home to Sevilla, three points here would be most welcome.

Once again, Jurgen Klopp is likely to make a few changes to the side. Joe Gomez is suspended so Trent Alexander-Arnold will probably come in at right back whilst Sadio Mane will also return to the side. It will be interesting to see how Klopp selects the trio in midfield, as Philippe Coutinho could drop deeper but at the expense of who, maybe Gini Wijnaldum?
This is a game that I think we will win, Liverpool create a lot of chances and have plenty of efforts in games. I can’t see Spartak being able to contain us, but I’m never confident of us keeping a clean sheet so we will need to score two to win and I feel that we will do just that.
Prediction
Spartak Moscow 1-2 Liverpool (Dzyuba / Mane, Firmino)
