Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday in a game that could have huge implications as to who finishes in the top four.
The last time these sides met, the Reds were outclassed by the North London side. Spurs came out 4-1 winners – but in truth, that flattered Liverpool. That was a long time ago, though, and Liverpool have improved a lot since back then and sit in a strong position to finish in the top four once again.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash, I have spoken to Spurs fan and aspiring sports journalist Adam Newton (@adampnewton) to get the lowdown on the opposition.
On a scale of 1-10, how do you rate Spurs’ season so far?
I think a 7 is about right. We’ve played well but not to the same level as we did last season. We’re in a decent position in the Premier League and we’re still in the Champions League, so it’s going alright ,but it could still be better.

2. Who have been Spurs’ standout players this season?
Obviously Harry Kane has stood out but a few others are Son and Jan Vertonghen. Son has chipped in with plenty of goals and Vertonghen has been a rock at the back whilst Toby Alderweireld has been out injured.
3. Who perhaps hasn’t impressed you so much this season?
Dele Alli has struggled compared to last season, but he seems to be in better form now so hopefully he can continue that for the rest of the season. Also Moussa Dembele hasn’t been able to play many games, injuries seem to be catching up with him which is a shame.
4. How have you rated Liverpool’s season so far?
I’ve been impressed by Liverpool this season and I think Mo Salah was easily signing of the summer. Selling Philippe Coutinho might affect their top four ambitions but they’ll definitely be in the race for the Champions League places.

5. Is there anyone in Liverpool’s side you’re fearful of for Sunday’s match?
Salah and Sadio Mane’s pace definitely scares me but Roberto Firmino has been in good form for Liverpool recently so I’m hoping we can keep him quiet.
6. How did you rate Spurs’ transfer window?
The signing of Lucas Moura really excited me but I would have liked to have seen a new striker come in. Fernando Llorente hasn’t looked great when he’s come on for us this season and I would be worried if we went into a game with him up top without Kane beside him.
7. Who should Liverpool be wary of on Sunday?
Liverpool should definitely be wary of Kane but aside from him, they should try and keep Christian Eriksen quiet. Eriksen outclassed Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic on Wednesday evening and I’m hoping he can continue his good form.

8. Finally, score prediction?
Spurs don’t have the best record at Anfield but I’m confident we can take the game to Liverpool and at least challenge them. I’m going to say an entertaining 2-2 draw.
