Kevin Stewart signs for Hull

Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart has officially secured a move to Championship side Hull City.

The 23-year-old signs a long-term contract with the Tigers as he looks for regular first-team football at this stage of his career.

Stewart was once a promising player for Liverpool but a lack of involvement last season has seen him seek pastures new, which he has found with Leonid Slutsky’s side.

The defensive midfielder made just four Premier League appearances last term and made a combined total of four starts in the EFL Cup and FA Cup. The Reds had a plethora of top midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order, so the move certainly makes sense.

It’s been reported that the deal could rise up to a total of £7.5m, which could prove to be a good sale on Liverpool’s part.

Stewart had his Hull medical on Thursday evening out in Portugal, and will now look to kick on in the second tier of English football.
