This time, Liverpool leave London and head into an international break with a full three points. After a humbling defeat two weeks ago, the Reds capped a three-match run with an assertive 4-1 victory against West Ham.
Liverpool started brightly even earning an early chance. They may have surrendered a chance early as well but that was more a result of deflected fortune than strong play. Before long Liverpool struck and struck again with two goals inside three minutes. Finally, delivering punishment to an opposition that deserved it.
The starting 11 may have been a bit of a surprise with Sadio Mané making a sensational return. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also earned a start, as well getting on the scoresheet. Still, how the Reds adapted their shape and scheme to the available personnel that shined brightest of all.
There were, of course, moments when Liverpool looked vulnerable. The first 15 minutes after the break were a bit frantic with a familiar look. West Ham even pulled one back. Yet, the Reds regained control almost immediately with a lightning strike after the restart to reestablish a two-goal lead. After that, Liverpool grabbed a fourth goal but could have had more as they cruised to a well-deserved win.
Here are four findings from the match.
