Liverpool Player Ratings: Hull City (H)

We may be approaching the end of September but Liverpool played just their second home game of the season on Saturday afternoon and put Hull City to the sword.

Jurgen Klopp left Daniel Sturridge on the bench after he missed a few training sessions earlier in the week, whilst Dejan Lovren was ruled out with an illness.

Roberto Firmino and Ragnar Klavan took their places and both performed well.

Any worries of a slow start from the Reds were soon put to bed as they dominated from the first whistle.

Philippe Coutinho’s early miss didn’t prove to be too costly as he set up Adam Lallana, whose control and finish was top class.

It was 2-0 soon after thanks to a James Milner penalty after Ahmed Elmohamady was sent off for a deliberate handball on the goalline.

Sadio Mane made it three with a tidy finish from the edge of the box to end the tie as a contest.

Hull annoyingly got a goal from a needless corner, but Coutinho made it 4-1 moments later with a wonderful strike.

Substitute Daniel Sturridge won a penalty soon after coming on and Milner converted it to round off the scoring.

Here are my player ratings from the game:
