Liverpool Player Ratings: West Ham (A)

If Arsenal’s win at Stoke City put the proverbial ball of pressure into Liverpool’s side of the court, Jurgen Klopp’s men smashed it back over the net with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium.

Without the injured Roberto Firmino, Klopp chose to start both Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi up front whilst deploying Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana in a midfield diamond, with Couthino, somewhat surprisingly, in a much deeper role.

The plan worked a treat as Liverpool looked much more potent in attack and it must be said that whilst they had their fair share of fortune, the team in green deserved all three points.

The win means that Liverpool simply need to defeat Middlesbrough at Anfield on the final day of the season to secure a top four place. The Reds will also be in the top four if Arsenal lose against either Sunderland or Everton, whilst the Gunners drawing either game would mean the Reds would just need a point.

Third place is still in the hands of Manchester City but Liverpool could even overtake them if City slip up against West Brom or Watford.

It’s not quite job done for the Reds, but it’s job almost done!
