Liverpool notched their third consecutive Premier League victory in emphatic fashion with a 5-1 thumping of newly-promoted Hull City at Anfield.
Adam Lallana opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Hull defender Ahmed Elmohamady saw red for a handball inside the area, with James Milner converting the resulting penalty.
In truth, there was no route back into the game for Mike Phelan’s side afterwards, with Sadio Mane’s neat finish compounding the Tigers’ misery.
David Meyler pulled one back early in the second half with a low drive, but a vintage curling effort from Philippe Coutinho swiftly restored the Reds’ three-goal advantage.
Milner then put the icing on the cake with a second penalty after substitute Daniel Sturridge was brought down.
