Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana were all on target as Liverpool made an emphatic return to Anfield with a 4-1 victory over reigning champions Leicester.
Firmino expertly fired in the opener from James Milner’s pass before Daniel Sturridge set up the impressive Mane with a neat backheel and he dinked the ball over Kasper Schmeichel to double the Reds’ lead.
Leicester were gifted a route back into the game when Jamie Vardy smashed home following a disastrous error from Lucas, but Lallana restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage with a sensational strike early in the second half.
Firmino put the icing on the cake in the final minutes as he swept the ball into an empty net after Mane beat a charging Schmeichel to the ball in a rapid counter-attack.
