Who was Liverpool’s best player against Man Utd?

Liverpool were unable to capitalise on their total domination as fierce rivals Manchester United held them to a goalless draw at Anfield.

The Reds mustered 19 attempts, relative to just six for the visitors, but their finishing once again deserted them at the key moments.

Liverpool’s best chance came in the first half, with David de Gea superbly denying Joel Matip before Mohamed Salah dragged the rebound wide.

United offered very little going forward after Romelu Lukaku fired the ball straight at Simon Mignolet just before the interval.

The best opportunity of the second half fell to Emre Can, but the German could not convert Joe Gomez’s excellent cross.

Another case, then, of two points dropped.
