Liverpool Player Ratings: Southampton (H)

Embarrassing. Utterly embarrassing.

A cup semi-final, under the lights at Anfield, a trip to Wembley at stake and that was the performance we put out?

That is completely unacceptable. This entire January has been unacceptable thus far.

Liverpool crashed out of the EFL Cup to Southampton in a way that didn’t reflect their early season form whatsoever.

The Saints were rightful winners over both legs and completely outplayed the Reds from front to back. Other than Daniel Sturridge’s two sitters, Liverpool didn’t look like scoring whatsoever.

Claude Puel’s men had chance after chance after chance and if not for Loris Karius saving Liverpool’s blushes, they would have been 5-0 down.

In the second half, Liverpool did have some good chances but it was too little too late in the end and their season is in severe danger of unravelling very, very quickly.

Nevertheless, after that dismal performance here are my player ratings:
