Liverpool Player Ratings: Swansea City (A)

Liverpool showed great character, to borrow a phrase from their previous manager, to come from 1-0 down to claim three points away to Swansea City.

For the second consecutive game, Liverpool conceded from a set piece. Nathaniel Clyne was beaten at the back post and Leroy Fer tapped him from a yard out, although there was a question of offside.

The Reds, who were really, really poor for half an hour, improved as the half went on but didn’t manage to get a goal before the break.

They did get back level ten minutes into the second half thanks to Roberto Firmino. Liverpool had a free-kick blocked but Jordan Henderson put the ball back into the box and Firmino guided the header home.

The Reds dominated the game from that point on but couldn’t convert. However, with around five minutes to go, James Milner scored another spot-kick after Firmino was fouled to send the travelling Kop home with huge smiles on their faces.
