Jurgen Klopp has added Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the Last 16 clashes against Bayern Munich.
UEFA rules allow three players who did not feature in the Group Stage to be added to a club’s squad for the Last 16 and Liverpool have used one of those changes to add Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The England international has been out of action since last April when he suffered a serious knee injury in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-final tie against Roma.

The injury forced Oxlade-Chamberlain to miss the Champions League final, the World Cup and the entire 2018/19 season up to this point.
However, the 25-year-old has stepped up his fitness work in recent weeks and it looks like he could feature for the Reds sooner rather than later.
The first-leg of the clash with the German champions is on February 19th and whilst it seems unlikely that Oxlade-Chamberlain will play any part in that game, the news that he’s been added to the Last 16 squad could be an indication that a return to action in mid-March, when the second-leg takes place, could be on the cards.
