Alisson continues training at Brazilian club instead of enjoying break

Alisson is training with Fluminense in a bid to remain sharp during the winter break, according to Globo Esporte.

Liverpool’s senior players are currently enjoying some downtime, with their next fixture not until February 15th, away to Norwich City.

While some are relaxing during their time off, Alisson is training hard in his homeland.

He is at Fluminense because his brother Muriel plays for the Brazilian giants, with the Liverpool man looking to stay in peak condition before training resumes back at Melwood.

Alisson’s importance to this Liverpool team cannot be downplayed, in my opinion, with the Brazilian helping transform the Reds’ back-line since joining from Roma in 2018.

He has conceded just six times at Anfield all season and he hasn’t been beaten once there since November.

Despite missing two months of the season through injury, he still has the joint-most clean sheets (nine) in the Premier League.

Alisson’s greatest strength is that he makes everything look so straightforward, making difficult saves appear routine and showing remarkable speed of feet and concentration levels.

His distribution is also world-class, as highlighted by his assist for Mohamed Salah against Manchester United last month.
