Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he hopes Liverpool don’t win the Premier League title at Goodison Park.
The Reds are closing in on a first league title since 1990, sitting 22 points clear of nearest challenger Manchester City.
There is now a genuine possibility that Jurgen Klopp’s men could be crowned champions at Goodison on March 16th, depending on results between now and then.
Eighteen points are required to guarantee title glory, but if City drop points before the Merseyside Derby, and Liverpool keep winning, it could mean a victory in that game seals the deal.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Ancelotti was honest about the prospect of the unthinkable happening, from an Everton perspective.
CA: "Liverpool are going to win the league – I hope not in Goodison Park. There are a lot of other stadiums."

Read Liverpool Verdict
I think it would be hilarious for Liverpool to win the title at Goodison, simply because of the meltdown it could cause among Everton fans.
If the Reds haven’t caused the Blues enough misery of late – Divock Origi’s late header, a 5-2 thrashing at Anfield and Liverpool’s youngsters knocking them out of the FA Cup – winning the league on their turf would be on another level.
I would actually prefer Klopp’s men to be crowned champions at Anfield, however, considering the joyous scenes that would take place afterwards.
Then again, I’m not going to be picky about it, considering how long Liverpool fans have waited for this title!
