Liverpool could have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe following a report from OKDiario via (Daily Express).
It’s claimed that Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann could be available in the summer for £50m with the French Ligue 1 club ‘interested’ alongside Reds’ arch-rivals Manchester United.
Having cost the Catalan giants a princely £107.6m sum to prize the French World Cup winner away from Atletico Madrid in 2019, it appears Griezmann’s time could be coming to an end at the Nou Camp.
Should PSG land the 29-year-old it could pave the way for compatriot and the highly-sought-after Mbappe, who was hailed ‘unplayable’ by former Republic of Ireland striker David Connolly, to leave the French capital with Liverpool and Real Madrid the main protagonists for what would be an earth-shattering transfer.
Griezmann, who himself has been linked with an Anfield switch previously, has managed six goals and six assists in 23 La Liga appearances this term, and in truth hasn’t hit the heights expected as a Barcelona player.

Fundamentally, whilst a potential striker arrival at Paris may make any deal to sign Mbappe slightly easier to manoeuvre, ultimately it’s not squad depth that is the main stumbling block for the Reds – it’s the finances involved.
There’s no doubt Mbappe would be a game-changing signing who would offer Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool as a whole, years of top quality service.
However, with a market value set at £162m, funding a transfer of this magnitude won’t be easy and would go against almost everything that has gone before during the tenure of Liverpool’s owners.
One saving grace remains Mbappe’s contract, which only has 16 months left to run and could mean a rapid decline in transfer value.
