Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert could be heading to West Bromwich Albion this week, according to Bill Howell of the Birmingham Mail.
The life-long Liverpool fan will be allowed to leave the club now that former Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke has arrived.
The Reds decided to activate the Belgian’s £32.5m release clause after weeks of speculation.
Lambert, 33 has fallen down the pecking order at the club after the arrival of Danny Ings and the return of Divock Origi from his loan spell.
The England International has only played seven league games, in which he found the net twice during his unsuccessful season.
In January, the club had accepted a bid from Aston Villa but the striker opted to stay and fight for his place at Anfield.
However, Lambert’s departure depends on the hip injury picked up by Danied Sturridge who will be out until October, and whether or not Brendan Rodgers can offload Italians Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini, who both missed the pre-season tour.
