A report from Goal has confirmed that Georginio Wijnaldum is wanted by Barcelona.
Ronald Koeman, the new manager at the Camp Nou, is reportedly keen to be reunited with Wijnaldum, who he worked with during his time with the Dutch national team.
No offer has been made to the Reds yet, but Koeman is interested in taking the 29-year-old to the Catalan giants.
The energetic Dutch midfielder’s future remains somewhat in the balance as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Premier League champions.

The Reds could be reluctant to lose him on a free, therefore a sale this summer might be their only option if the midfielder doesn’t sign a new deal.
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp clearly sees Wijnaldum as part of his plans as the Dutchman played in 37 of the 38 Premier League matches last season, scoring four goals.
Whilst the Reds do not wish to sell and have been offered no indication by Wijnaldum that he is looking for a move, the uncertainty surrounding his contract and the constant rumours of the arrival of Thiago from Bayern Munich may make for an interesting next few weeks.
The situation could be made even more interesting should Koeman make his move and place a bid in an attempt to make the reunion a reality.
