Hunter is said to be the person at Liverpool who has the best relationship with Fekir and his agents, who are reportedly responsible for holding up the deal.
There had been reports which suggested a medical issue was to blame for the delay but L’Equipe suggest that a disagreement about financial incentives to Fekir’s representatives is to blame for the hold up.
Liverpool are said to be exasperated at the delay but remain hopeful of getting the deal over the line.
It has been reported that Fekir has even completed an introductory interview with LFCTV as all parties seemed convinced that a deal was all but done.
However, it seems like Fekir’s representatives are holding out for more money, so Hunter has flown out to try and resolve the issue.
