Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn has been voted as Wales’ Young Player of the Year at the FAW Awards.
The 17-year-old scored a wonderful winning goal for his country on his debut against Austria, a goal which kept Wales very much in contention to qualify for the World Cup.
He backed that up a few days later in Moldova by setting up Hal Robson-Kanu for another crucial goal and those two moments in particular where what helped him win the award.

Woodburn was nominated for the award alongside Ethan Ampadu, Tyler Roberts, Daniel James and Liverpool teammate Harry Wilson but it was never really in doubt that he would win.
Whilst the teenager is finding appearances at Liverpool hard to come by, he is very much part of the Wales squad and he’s likely to feature for his country in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and the Republic of Ireland, respectively.
