Besiktas fans implore Daniel Sturridge to join their club

Besiktas supporters have taken over the comments section on Daniel Sturrdige’s Instagram page in an attempt to tempt the striker to Turkey.

The Liverpool Echo report that Sturridge has spoken to Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi with regards to his future.

The 28-year-old’s time at Anfield looks to be coming to an end having endured an injury-hit loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season.

Sturridge moved to Merseyside in 2012 and has scored 48 Premier League goals for the Reds.

His best season came in 2013/14, where he scored 21 league goals and formed a formidable partnership with Luis Suarez as Liverpool fell just short of claiming the Premier League title.

The striker posted a video on his personal Instagram page yesterday and was left hundreds of messages by Besiktas supporters urging him to join their club.

As seen on the post above, the majority are leaving the phrase “Come to Besiktas” and the supporters have previous for this, so much so, that the club adopted the phrase when announcing new signings last summer.

The main focus of their comments last summer was Diego Costa, but the Spaniard opted for a return to Atletico Madrid instead.

It remains to be seen whether their hard work will pay off this time, but it’s clear that Sturridge would be welcomed with open arms should he join the club.
