Promising under 23 winger Bobby Adekanye is set to resolve his future in the next few weeks, according to the player’s agent.
The 20-year-old Dutch youth international was rumoured to have agreed to a deal to join Lazio this summer on a free, but thus far, nothing has been confirmed by the player or either club.
A representative for the player told Corriere Dello Sport that Adekanye “still hasn’t decided on his future, but we are close to an agreement”, adding “you’ll know in the next few weeks”.
Adekanye has been at Liverpool since 2015, arriving at the club from Barcelona’s under 17 squad.
Despite impressing for the under 23 side, he has yet to feature in Liverpool’s first team, a fact the player’s agent points to as critical in his decision to leave Merseyside…
Bobby decided to not continue at Liverpool because he wants to play somewhere he can grow and show his worth at a high level. Lazio is the perfect place to do it. They have experience with youngsters, they give them a chance, and they know how to get them to a successful level.

Lazio would seem to be the preferred destination for the player and his team, especially with no other potential suitors being mentioned in the media.
Adekanye will surely hope he can emulate the career path of former red Luis Alberto – who also left for Lazio in 2016, and has since become a mainstay in the Italian side’s midfield.
