Liverpool’s signing Adam Bogdan has thanked Bolton for giving him his chance in English football.
The Hungarian keeper, who has put in some outstanding performances at the Macron Stadium, is due to join the Reds on a Bosman transfer on July 1st.
Speaking with the Manchester Evening News, the ‘keeper said:
“I would like to say thank you to Bolton Wanderers for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream and become a professional football player in England” said Bogdan.
“It was eight years ago when I first came to the club and I feel Bolton have helped make me the player I am today.”
“I have to say a thank you to all of my coaches during my time at the club, as every one of them has contributed something towards my game.”
“A huge thank you also goes to the fans. I have fond memories of you all and it makes it really hard to leave the club.”
Bolton had wanted to keep the keeper and made him a deal but he decided the lure of Anfield was too great.
“However, I have been given a fantastic chance to join Liverpool and would like to make the most of this opportunity.”
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career, but I will never forget the time I have spent at Bolton.”
It remains to be seen what capacity the player will fulfil at the club but his performances in the FA Cup ties against Liverpool last season suggest he could potentially challenge Simon Mignolet for the number 1 jersey as time progresses.
