Fabio Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi has spoken out about the state of affairs regarding his client.
The agent believes the Italian international striker was not given enough chances to play by Brendan Rodgers and is now considering his future at Liverpool. De Marchi told SportItalia:
“He wasn’t given the opportunity to play this year, and we’re evaluating what would be the best project for Fabio.
“He wants to play, to show what he can do, as he has done in recent years, such as at Sunderland.”
Borini, who used to play for Swansea under Rodgers, is being courted by several Italian clubs, including Roma and Lazio.
“The lad is being followed by many European clubs, including Italian ones. We’re still evaluating, because a lot of clubs changed their manager and must wait for directives from their coach.
“I’d say whoever signs Fabio it would be a good deal.”
Borini’s agent then went on to say that there will be no repeat of last year, indicating that the striker has no future at Anfield.
“There are no grounds for that after what happened last year. It’s like if you kept a lion in a cage for a year.”
