Brendan Rodgers has had his say on the rumours that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is going to be the next Rangers manager.
Ex-Liverpool captain Gerrard is the favourite to take over at Ibrox, and his former boss Rodgers isn’t sure it would be the right move for him.
Speaking to the BBC, the Celtic boss said:
I was a little bit surprised when I saw it, If the speculation is right then maybe Stevie feels it is the right club. I think it’s a risk for both parties, really.
The 37-year-old is currently manager of the Liverpool under 18’s side and this would be his first job in senior management.

On Gerrard wanting to go into management, Rodgers said:
I know from my time working closely with him at Liverpool that it was something he always wanted to do. But playing football is totally different from coaching and managing obviously. I’m sure he will do a bit of due diligence and he has got plenty of people he can turn to for advice.
Rangers are still majorly inferior to Celtic in the SPL, as their Glasgow rivals could win their seventh successive title against them on Sunday at Celtic Park.
Discussing Rangers, Rodgers admitted:
Patience is needed. I think a more experienced guy would be advantageous in that department. If Steve thinks he can do it, then good luck to him.
