Can impressed by summer signings

Emre Can is excited by the summer signings, now that all of them have been rounded up from extended breaks following international tournaments and the full squad is together.

In speaking with Liverpoolfc.com, Can expressed his elation at the club’s summer business.

The 21-year-old is especially galvanised with Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke and James Milner.

“[Firmino] is a very, very good player – he scores a lot of great goals, and that’s what we need. He plays like a lot of Brazilians – he’s a fighter, and technically very strong and capable, and that can only help win matches for us.”

Benteke’s work rate has caught Can’s eye:

“Christian is another very strong player, he works very hard. We see in the training groups just how much effort he puts in.”

Can references Benteke’s great record against Liverpool as why fans should know what they’re getting:

“The Liverpool fans have already seen last season what a robust player he is. He’s also good in the air, and all round a very good purchase for us.”

As for Milner, Can looks forward to what wisdom the Englishman can impart on him:

“James is a great player, and he has a lot of experience in the Premier League and at the highest level, so I am sure there will be a lot I can learn from him.”

The immediate settling in period has gone well, according to the German.

“It has all gone very well – they all seem to have settled in quickly, and I think all of the new guys are feeling good,” said Can.

“Liverpool Football Club only ever buys players in order to strengthen the squad and team.”

Firmino and Benteke are set to make their debuts in the famous red shirt either today or tomorrow. It is unknown whether or not the pair will be available against Stoke next weekend.
