Jamie Carragher produced a hilarious tweet to Gary Neville on Wednesday night, following Manchester United’s defeat to Manchester City.
Liverpool’s arch-rivals were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage, losing 2-0 at home to their local adversaries.
Much has been made of United being ‘joint top’ of the Premier League currently, even though they are clearly second on goal difference.
Neville himself has claimed as much on Twitter, giving Carragher the perfect ammunition on Wednesday.
After the United loss, the Liverpool legend took to the social media platform to post a photo of a happy Neville, with the caption: ‘Joint semi finalists!’

There was a time when the idea of them getting along and poking fun at each other seemed unthinkable, as they angrily went toe-to-toe in Liverpool-United clashes.

Pep Guardiola’s men have found their groove again, and with a winnable run of fixtures coming up, Liverpool need to stay in touch with them.
