Former Liverpool star, now TV pundit, Jamie Carragher believes that the current Premier League season has to be finished at some point, amidst the Coronavirus crisis.
All English games are expected to be suspended this weekend, ahead of what looks like an extended break from domestic action.
Liverpool sit 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League, needing only two more wins to secure a first league title since 1990.
There has been talk of the season potentially being voided, however, which could mean the Reds being cruelly robbed of glory at the eleventh hour.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Carragher said he believes the only solution is to complete the 2019/20 campaign at some point, due to the knock-on effects that voiding it would have:
Inevitable the @premierleague @EFL will be suspended today. You can’t start next season until this one finishes when ever that is. No title winners? Who goes in the @ChampionsLeague next season??Leeds WBA +1 miss out on PL??? 3 clubs in Prem stay up.

The Liverpool legend is spot on, with teams facing the threat of missing out on titles, promotions and potentially huge sums of money if the season doesn’t come to its natural conclusion.
It may be that the action can’t continue until later in the year, with next season being delayed, but cancelling the whole campaign would make for a messy situation.
