Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent is expected to spend parts of the 2015-2016 season on loan, and the club are reportedly listening to offers.
Brendan Rodgers has agreed to let Kent go for at least part of the season to gain first team experience.
Kent was a member of the squad that travelled across Asia and Australia as part of the club’s pre-season tour, and he featured in the game against Brisbane Roar.
Swindon Town were hoping to add Kent to their ranks, but the Liverpool Echo have reported that it is unlikely the 18-year-old will follow Jordan Williams, Lawrence Vigouroux and Kevin Stewart to the League One side, as many Championship teams are interested in taking the academy graduate.
Swindon chairman Lee Power was involved in talks with boss Brendan Rodgers after the friendly at the County Ground on Sunday, where Kent made an appearance for the Reds.
“I said to Brendan I was going to put him in the boot of the car and keep him here for a month,” he joked.
“You could see the talent the boy has and the problem is there are many teams in the Championship that want him.
“I know that Brendan is keen for him to come to us because he said in the press that we were one of the few clubs that they would like to loan their players out to, which is quite nice for the football club.
“Attracting someone like Ryan is going to be difficult and looking very unlikely at the moment, but if he was to come then it would be a huge signing.”
Kent was a regular in the Under-21 side last season, playing in midfield or as part of an attacking three up top.
